Dr Jinyan (Jim) Yang is a Research Fellow in the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment, WSU. He is an ecological modeller with broad interests on plant morphological and ecophysiological processes as well as their responses to climate change.
After finishing his PhD, he continues as a postdoctoral research fellow in HIE. His first postdoc research project investigated the modelling of the responses of Australian grassland phenology to rainfall variability. This project is supported by an ARC Discovery fund under the supervision of Prof Belinda Medlyn, Prof Sally Power, Prof David Tissue, and Prof Elise Pendall. After that he joined the HIE Bushfire Research Group on the project “The influence of climate change on bushfire fuels in Victoria”.
